Roxana Ortega is an award-winning actor and multi-hyphenate artist who is thrilled to be making her Geffen Playhouse debut. Her on-camera credits include Shonda Rhimes’ For the People (Apple TV+), Santa Clarita Diet (Netflix), NCIS(CBS), New Girl (Fox), Grand-Daddy Day Care opposite Danny Trejo, Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulousopposite Sandra Bullock, and countless national commercials. Behind the mic, her credits include the Emmy and Imagen Award–winning The Casagrandes (Nickelodeon), the Emmy–winning Monsters at Work (Disney+), Archer (FX), Star Trek: Lower Decks (Paramount Plus), and the series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft (Netflix). She studied theatre at Studio A.C.T. in San Francisco, improvisation at the Upright Citizens Brigade and is a Sunday Company alumna of the prestigious Groundlings Theatre. She’s performed on San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles stages and is currently an Ammunition Theatre Company member. Passionate about storytelling, she’s been featured on podcasts and stages all over Los Angeles, including at The Moth GrandSLAM. She co-created/co-hosted The Risking Space podcast and voice-directed Netflix’s NAACP Image Award–winning documentary Black Barbie. Roxana was born in Los Angeles, raised in Fullerton, CA and is of Peruvian and Mexican descent. She graduated from UC Berkeley Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.
