Kate DeVore has served as voice and/or dialect coach at Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Lyric Opera of Chicago, A Red Orchid Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre, The Second City, Piven Theatre Workshop, Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre, and Chicago Dramatists. Film/TV credits include The Outfit, Ripley, and Caddo Lake. In addition to her work as a voice, speech, and presence coach, Kate is also a speech pathologist specializing in professional voice, teacher, and author based in Chicago (www.totalvoice.net). In addition to coaching speakers ranging from actors to executives, she is co-author of The Voice Book: Caring For, Protecting, and Improving Your Voice, she created the self-study eBook Accent Modification: Neutral American Dialect, and co-created downloadable self-study materials for accent/dialects available through www.accenthelp.com. She has a long history teaching voice/dialects at The School at Steppenwolf, Columbia College Chicago, Acting Studio Chicago, and Summer Vocology Institute.
