Amith Chandrashaker is a Tony Award–nominated Lighting Designer who works in theater, opera, and dance. His credits include Broadway: Prayer for the French Republic (Tony nomination), Merrily We Roll Along, and Purpose. Off-Broadway: The Public Theater, Playwrights Horizons, New York Theatre Workshop, Atlantic Theater Company, and Signature Theatre. Regional Theaters: Second Stage Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Geffen Playhouse, and The Huntington. Opera: The Glimmerglass Festival, Houston Grand Opera, Washington National Opera, and Deutsche Oper am Rhein. Dance: Staatstheater Nürnberg, Lyon Opera Ballet, Royal Ballet of New Zealand, The Joyce Theater, and National Dance Company of Wales. He is the recipient of the Drama Desk and Henry Hewes Design Awards; Union Trustee for United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829, IATSE; M.F.A., NYU Tisch School of the Arts and faculty at the University of Maryland’s School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies.
